Q: Do any of the Berkline models have an adjustable headrest?
A: Yes, the 075, shown here features an adjustable head rest.
Q: I am pretty tall. Are any of the Berkline models better suited for taller people?
A: Yes, the 075, shown here features an adjustable head rest. The following models all have a back height of 44", or higher, compared to the standard 090's that are 41":
091, 094, 099, 187, 194
Q: I am fairly short in stature. Do any of the Berkline models fit shorter people better?
A: Yes, we recommend the 088, 086 or the 096. Please keep in mind that the seating area width is also smaller on these seats as well.
Q: How should I clean my Berkline seats?
A: If you have leather you should be OK using a very mild soap/water solution. Berkline recommends using professional cleaning on micro fiber, but you may be able to use a mild soap/water solution successfully.
Q: I just received my Berkline Theater Seats and they squeak while using the power recline. Can you recommend anything to make the squeaking stop?
A: New leather/vinyl combo seats will on occasion squeak when new. We recommend applying a small amount of baby powder to the area that squeaks. The noise will go away with time, also.
Q: Where can I locate a particular style of furniture so I can try the piece before purchasing?
A: Click on "Find A Dealer" link here and type your zip code in the box at the upper right hand side of the page to find the Berkline dealers in your area. Call them to see if they carry the style and color that you are looking for. Please keep in mind not all dealers carry a full line of Berkline products.
Q: I know to contact my local Berkline dealer for product under warranty. Who do I contact if I have a problem with my furniture after my warranty expires?
A: Contact Berkline Product services at 423-585-1500. They can assist in after warranty replacement of parts and fabric. Please have the model number handy. It can be found on the green tag under the footrest.
Q: What information do I need to order a repair part for my furniture?
A: You will need to provide us with all information from the color-coded manufacturing tag. It is a green tag under the footrest. If the tag is not located under the footrest please look down in the sides of the seats or where the back and seat meet. We will also need a detailed description of the defect.
Q: My new swivel recliner was just delivered and it will not recline.
A: All glider mechanisms are locked down for shipping with 2 plastic rings that must be removed from the mechanism before it will operate. In addition all other footrests are locked down with a strip of fabric that is stapled to the back of the footrest and runs to the back of the seat frame. This fabric needs to be removed before the furniture will recline.
Q: Where can I find a manufacturer suggested retail price for the furniture I am interested in?
A: Berkline does not establish a "Manufacturer's suggested retail price". Individual dealers establish their own prices. We offer the best prices on Berkline Theater Seats on the web.
Q: Where can I get my furniture repaired?
A: Visit www.mapquest.com and click on "Yellow Pages". Search for "furniture repair". This will provide you with a list of all repair centers within a radius of your zip code. If you need more help, please call us for assistance.
Q: Can I request fabric swatches from Stargate Cinema?
A: You can view fabric swatches online or request physical samples from us. Just click on the individual seat you are interested in to see the various fabrics and colors available online. We can also send you the fabric swatches in the mail. Please call us at 1.866.684.3843 and press option 1 to make the request. We simply request that you return them in the mail to us as we have a limited number of swatch cards.
Q: What kind of configurations are available in Berkline Home Theater seats?
A: Check our web site under that particular style number/model. You can also follow the link to Berkline's online planner here.. You can use this tool to see the available pieces and layout a configuration that will fit in your room. If the style is not listed on our web site, please contact us so we can get it for you.
Q: Is the Power Recline option worth the money?
A: With the Power Recliner option, you can stop the seat anywhere along the continuum. Manual Recline only has three positions at which to stop. Given those facts, we think the power recliner is a nice option, worth the extra expense.
Q: What are the buttkickers and are they worth the money?
A: Buttkickers are tactile transducers that use the ".1" channel (the same channel used by your subwoofer) of the audio sound track to supplement the movie experience by vibrating the seats. This adds another dimension to the movie experience without cranking your subwoofer up to eleven. We think they're the next best thing since John Waters' "Smell-O-Vision"!
Q: How long does it take for my seats to arrive?
A: All Berkline orders are custom-made-to-order. The production of the seats typically takes 3-5 weeks. Sometimes your order will ship as soon as three weeks, but on occasion it make take eight weeks. Curbside shipping will take about three to six days, while White Glove shipping will take one to two weeks.
Q: Are the Berkline Theater Seats connected together?
A: No, the seats are sold as individual chairs with one arm, two arms or no arms. The seats do not physically connect together. Rather, they are placed together like a sectional sofa.
Q: Won't the seats move if they are not connected together?
A: The seats weigh about one hundred pounds and will not normally move on carpet. They will, however, move when installed on hardwood or tile floors. If this is a concern, connector plates can be purchased through us for installation on hardwood or carpet, but we recommend a more economical solution of hooking them together with simple straps hidden under the bottom of the chairs.
Q: How much do the seats weigh?
A: Each seat weighs anywhere from 80 pounds to 120 pounds depending on model and options included. The backs of the seats will weigh approximately 10 to 15 lbs and the seat bottom the remainder.
