FABRIC CONTENT DEFINITIONS
Acrylic
A manufactured fiber made from long-chain synthetic polymers. Characteristics: wrinkle resistance; low moisture absorbency and quick-drying; provides warmth yet lightweight, soft and resilient
Cotton
A cellulose fiber collected from the perennial shrub from the genus Gossypium; predominantly G. hirsutum (upland or long-staple cotton), but also some G. barbadense (Pima or extra-long-staple cotton). A vegetable fiber consisting of unicellular hairs attached to the seed of the cotton plant.
Nylon
The generic term for man-made fibers composed of polyamides derived from coal and petroleum. Characteristics: high strength, elasticity, low water absorption and quick-drying.
Olefin
A non-absorbent man-made fabric with excellent elasticity and resiliency.
Polyamide
A synthetic fiber with wrinkle resistant capabilities
Polyester
A manufactured fiber made from long-chain synthetic polymers. Characteristics: crease-resistance, quick- drying, great shape retention, high strength, abrasion resistance and easy care.
Polypropylene
A plastic similar to polyethylene but is lighter and offers even better heat resistance, tensile strength, abrasion resistance, and lower dielectric constant.
Rayon
A generic term for man-made fibers composed of regenerated cellulose derived from trees, cotton and woody plants. Characteristics: high absorbency, bright or dull luster, pleasant feel or hand, good draping qualities, ability to be dyed in brilliant colors and superior strength.
Viscose
A rayon with a soft silky feel, made from a cellulose solution
Fabric Cleaning Codes
Code "S" Care Method
To prevent overall soil, frequent vacuuming or light brushing to remove dust and grime is recommended. Spot clean using a mild water-free solvent or dry cleaning product. Pretest small area before proceeding.
Code "W" Care Method
Use water base upholstery cleaner only.
Code "WS" Care Method
To prevent overall soil, frequent vacuuming or light brushing to remove dust and grime is recommended. Spot clean, with a mild solvent, an upholstery shampoo, or the foam from a mild detergent. When using a solvent or dry cleaning product, follow instructions carefully and clean only in a well ventilated room. With either method, pretest a small area before proceeding.
Code "X" Care Method
Clean this fabric only by vacuuming or light brushing to prevent accumulation of dust or grime. Water-based foam cleaners or solvent-based cleaning agents of any kind may cause excessive shrinking, staining or distortion of the surface pile and, therefore; should not be used. A word of caution on cleaning: never remove cushion covers or arm caps for separate cleaning. It may destroy the backing, cause shrinking and color changes.
Code "D" Care Method
Use a professional dry cleaning service only.
